Ms. Lisa Groff, Dean of Students at the Middle School
Ms. Groff was nominated by Middle School Principal, Mr. Anthony Campbell

Ms. Groff has been a key player in helping us to start off an AWESOME school year!  This past summer, she was part of the Lighthouse Team - a group of teachers who met to help brainstorm changes for MS practices to help reinforce MTSS and Leader in Me practices for all students and staff.  Additionally, she helped to teach Summer School classes to students who needed additional support. She even went the extra mile and offered an additional summer school opportunity for students who did not fully complete their ELA work during the initial summer school session.

    Ms. Sandy Howard, Registrar
Ms. Howard was nominated by Ms. Traci Stauffer, Director of Special Education and Pupil Services

Sandy's calm, personable demeanor has been a welcomed addition to our Special Education/Pupil Service Team. She represents WYASD in a positive fashion and is the first to greet our new families as they register their students. Since July 1st, Sandy has registered approximately 217 students in grades 1-12 and has been a tremendous help with Kindergarten registrations! She amazes us daily with her work ethic and her ability to stay calm and focused on the busiest of days!

Ms. Regina Lau, Plant Operator at Wallace
Ms. Lau was nominated by Wallace Elementary Principal, Mr. Jonathan Hoffman

Ms. Lau fulfills responsibilities above and beyond her job description. She takes great pride in the work she does and is always willing to help faculty and staff throughout the building. Most recently, Ms. Lau has implemented a Golden Trash Can Award system building-wide that helps teach students responsibility and pride in the school. You can often see her walking with students and supporting their Social/Emotional Needs. Ms. Lau goes beyond the call of duty to make Wallace AWESOME!

Mr. Rod Meckley, HS Music Teacher and Band Director
Mr. Meckely was nominated by High School Principal, Ms. Carrie Jones

Mr. Meckley has been working hard preparing for the upcoming season and showcasing instrumental musical talent at our school. He led a band camp before school, took students to Trimmer Elementary, organized the band to play for families at the start of our Back to School Night, helped with Opening Day for the whole district, and held a successful Band Show to kick off the season. Additionally, the District, through the efforts of Mr. Meckley and the entire West York Music Department, was the recipient of the 2022 Best Communities for Music Education award presented by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) for their commitment and support of music education.
