Years on the WYASD Board of Directors

  • I'm new! Seated in December 2025.

Occupation:

  • Senior Account Management - Commercial Insurance Sales

What would you say the most important issue is before the Board right now

  • Our budget and meeting the needs of our diverse student population.

What would you like the community to know about the West York Area School District?

  • Our district truly is a hidden treasure. We are doing great things...awesome things! Awesome is what we do, right? We have fantastic classroom programs that are helping prepare our students for the next steps in grade school and beyond. We have teachers who go above and beyond, and a wonderful staff and administration that keep our schools humming along.

What makes West York's mission, Every Student Every Day, powerful for you?

  • Not every student needs the same exact things to thrive. Meeting students where they are is really important and impactful.

Where do you see the District in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, and how do you see your role on the Board as an integral part of this?

  • Our district will continue to evolve as its population changes, and I think that's a powerful thing for our students. It's a good thing. Our students can grow by learning new things from each other. However, we also need to be poised to support our diverse students and the teachers who educate them. Providing teachers and staff with effective tools to educate our ESL learners needs to be a focus of the board and administration.

Where could we find you on the weekend?

  • In a gym or at a soccer field, watching my girls pursue their passions!

What might people be surprised to know about you?

  • I am super competitive but terrible at sports...it's kind of embarrassing.

What is one piece of advice you would share with our high school seniors?

  • Get out of York. Travel. There is a great, big world out there. Go see other parts of our country, or get your passport and visit other countries. There is so much perspective to be gained from seeing how others live, speak, and even eat. It's fascinating, eye-opening, and also makes you appreciate where you come from.

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?

  • Be an advocate to lift others up. Watching people feel powerless truly vexes me. Empowering people to find their voice and advocate for themselves is really important.
