• Years on the WYASD Board of Directors: 2

  • Occupation: Social Studies Teacher, Central York High School

What would you say the most important issue is before the Board right now?

Focus less on "programs" and more on basics like smaller class sizes.

What would you like the community to know about the West York Area School District?

The School District belongs to the community, Board members are your elected representatives, please let us know your thoughts.

What makes West York's mission, Every Student Every Day, powerful for you?

It's only powerful if the slogan is transferred from a catchy phrase into reality.

Where do you see the District in 5 years,10 years, 20 years,

and how do you see your role on the Board as an integral part of this?

In the short term, the District needs to settle down and maximize student discipline and reduce chaos resulting from ever-changing programs and goals.

Where might we find you on the weekend?

Sometimes at school events, riding my bike, or gardening.

What might people be surprised to know about you?

I'm a very open, direct person, what you see is what you get, no surprises.

What is one piece of advice you would share with our High School seniors?

This is not the end of learning, in more ways than you know, it is just the beginning of your education.

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?

Help others improve their lives by sharing what I know with them, and leading with a servant's mindset.
