The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
On December 10, 2015, President Barack Obama signed the Every Student Succeeds Act, which reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. Developed and passed with strong, bipartisan support, ESSA replaced No Child Left Behind (NCLB) as the nation's main education law.
This Index is a collection of school progress measures related to school and student success. The Index includes a range of assessment, on-track, and readiness indicators, to more accurately report student learning, growth, and success in the classroom and beyond. Future Ready PA Index contains the most recent data available in the 2017-2018 school year.
