NOTES FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE:

WHEN TO SEND STUDENTS HOME/STAY HOME FROM SCHOOL

- Vomiting

- Severe Diarrhea

- Fever > 100 degrees

- Complications from a chronic disease such as Diabetes, Asthma, Epilepsy, etc.

It is important to understand that is is at the nurse's discretion to excuse a student to home.  If a parent/guardian decides their student should go home, and they are not excused by the nurse, a written note/excuse blank must be filled out by the parent.  This includes a student texting their parent to
come to get them.

SCREENINGS:

All Screenings will be done in school, except for physical and dental exams, which can be done by a family physician.

**Physical & Dental Exams are due at the start of school

MEDICATIONS:

Only the following list of medications have been approved by our school Physician and can be given to students:

  • Benadryl

  • Hydro-cortisone cream

  • Triple antibiotic ointment

  • Albuterol

  • Caladryl

  • Anbesol

  • Oragel

  • Epi-Pen

  • Ammonia inhalant

**Any other prescription or over-the-counter medications must have written order from a Doctor and be brought in by the parent/guardian.
