What would you say the most important issue is before the Board right now? Maintaining a level playing field for all of our students to continue to grow educationally. We owe it to our students to provide them with the best education possible in order for them to reach their individual potential.
What would you like the community to know about the West York Area School District? A lot of thought and conversation go into what we can do to create the best learning environment possible for our students. Conversations are encouraged and welcomed.
What makes West York's mission, Every Student Every Day, powerful for you? We are developing future business leaders, community leaders, and community members. Our goals have to align themselves with creating the confidence that our students will embrace and build upon those roles.
Where do you see the District in 5 years,10 years, 20 years, and how do you see your role on the Board as an integral part of this?My hope is that over the years we can continue to develop an Educational Philosophy here at West York that enhances all of our students equally. Establish checks and balances to see that our Community, our Administrators & Educators, as well as our Students, have a place to flourish. We must gain, and maintain, the trust of the Community by allowing voices to be heard. As for my role, I work in the trenches. I believe that all programs are built from the bottom up while still showing respect to those at the upper levels.
Where might we find you on the weekend? At a game, in the woods or simply spending time with family and friends.
What might people be surprised to know about you? I used to make extra money singing at weddings.
What is one piece of advice you would share with our High School seniors? Everyone makes a difference in your life. You decide if that will be a negative or a positive influence.
What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?
