• Welcome to the Counseling Center

The Counseling Center helps to provide education, prevention, early identification and intervention. Elementary school counselors help their students achieve academic success, develop an understanding of career opportunities and develop social/emotional skills in response to issues they face.

Hi!  Welcome to the Lincolnway Elementary Counseling Center!

    Classroom Lessons
I am in each classroom at least once a month for a school counselor classroom lesson.  After each lesson, I will post a note with a description of the lesson on your child’s class Dojo page.

    Small-Group Counseling/Clubs
I will have mini-groups that will meet between four and six times one day a week.  I will also do some groups that will last six to ten weeks.  Topics may include:  Friendship Skills, Coping with Anger, Coping with Anxiety, review of classroom materials taught, Zones of Regulation, etc.  I will be partnering with The Caring Place to facilitate grief and loss peer support groups again this school year.

    Individual Counseling
School counselors are not therapists.  We work with students on a short-term basis to teach coping and social skills.  I will see a student 6-8 times individually.  If you would like therapy for your child, a referral list is located in the family resource section.  A referral list is also available upon request.

The West York Area School District also partners with PCBH (Pennsylvania Comprehensive Behavioral Health Services) for intakes. A decision on what services will best assist your child will be made during the intake.
