Trimmer Elementary School

Every Student Every Day

  • Welcome to Trimmer Elementary School

Welcome to Norman A. Trimmer Elementary School, where Awesome flourishes! Trimmer Elementary School consists of the 4th and 5th grades, serving approximately 430 students. Services are provided by experienced faculty and staff who exemplify the West York Area School District motto, “Every Student, Every Day.”

This philosophy of “Every Student Every Day” means that every student is cared for educationally and emotionally every day, with the expectation of building responsible young citizens.  To achieve this, teachers and staff utilize a differentiated instructional model to meet the needs of all students.  Trimmer faculty and staff strive to build collaborative relationships with parents/guardians, families, and the community to create an advantageous learning environment for all students. Trimmer is an exciting place for our young Bulldogs to learn, thrive, and grow! Your student will be placed on a team of two teachers; one focusing on English Language Arts and the other focusing on Math and Content (Science and Social Studies).  Trimmer students are also provided with rich experiences in the Encore classes of Art, Music, Physical Education, and Matrix(technology). Students are provided their first opportunity to participate in Band and Chorus.

At Trimmer Elementary, our students experience a warm and welcoming environment.  Our faculty and staff not only focus on the academic growth of the students but also the social-emotional growth.  We pride ourselves on collectively developing our students into world-class citizens!
