• Director of Special Education & Pupil Services
    Ms. Traci Stauffer

I am proud to be serving the students, families and staff within the West York Area School District. I began in my position at West York in 2018 and could not be prouder of the direction of the district and the positive team I have the opportunity to work with daily. My experience includes over fifteen years in the classroom working with high school students with a variety of disabilities. In addition to this, I also served in two York County school districts as the transition coordinator for secondary students, creating and providing opportunities and programs for students to learn post-secondary employment and daily living skills for transition beyond high school. My previous leadership experience includes supervision of special education positions at Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 as well as Manheim Central School District. My personal goal in education is and has always been to exceed the expectations of the students and families I serve.

I reside in southern York County with my husband, Dan who is a high school tech ed teacher at South Eastern School District. We have four adult children and a variety of farm animals, including our new puppy Chip (bottom right), that keep us busy now that we are empty nesters.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or anyone on my team if you have questions or need direction related to services for your child.
