What makes West York Awesome?
What makes West York AWESOME is the community involvement and legacy. West York is rich with a family-like culture and support system that includes staff, teachers, administrators, parents, students, and Alumni. What would you like to accomplish in this school year?
What I’d like to accomplish during the 2022-2023 school year is to focus on ensuring our students are prepared for their continued educational journey of becoming world-class citizens. We all will take different walks of life, and I want each student to know we are here for them and we support them. What would you like the community to know about you?
I’m a 2001 graduate of WYASD, a 2005 graduate of York College of Pennsylvania with my B.A. in Communications, and a 2021 graduate of Western Governs University with my M.S. in Management and Leadership. I’m so thankful to be a Bulldog, to be raising two Bulldogs, and to represent the Bulldog community! What would you say the most important issue is before the Board right now?
The most important issues are continuing to educate the whole student. We need to help our children evolve into world-class citizens through challenging curriculum and life skills. What makes West York's mission, Every Student Every Day, powerful for you?
What has always made WYASD so special are the teachers, staff, and the community! We truly are a family, and for that I’m grateful.Where do you see the District in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, and how do you see your role on the Board as an integral part of this?
I see this district continuing to grow and develop with our changing student population. It’s so hard to predict the future; however, we have a solid foundation so our future will be bright!Where could we find you on the weekend?
You’ll find me at a sporting event with my husband and two children. Basketball, baseball, football, or coaching a volleyball game at York College. What people might be surprised to know about you?
I was a cheerleader for WY before finding volleyball! What is one piece of advice you would share with our high school seniors?
Experience life and not things. Take the opportunity to do as many internships as possible, and travel as much as you can through your education. You’ll be astounded by the lessons you’ll learn. What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?
Coach sports.
